Fairly quiet birthday. My Unka Kent, who is hip as a bastid, 'e is, sent me a gift certificate for Amazon.com! i've got a ton of cool books coming soon. And my grandpops, he gave me a cool-ass bookshelf, coincidentally!

From my father... sigh... i got two or three cryptic e-mails, no doubt written while he was drunk as a lark. One said simply "Be there" in the subject line; no body whatsoever. In another he quoted Dylan at me (that was more or less the whole epistle). Of all the Dylan he could have quoted, he chose the saddest, and perhaps the most appropriate: "most likely you['ll] go your way, I'll go mine." Bugger all.

(update later that week): my pops got me two cool shirts (damn i'm getting fat) and a Santana boxed set. Cool.

Updated the Flash intro again, after seeing some cool looking futuristic transportation animation on TLC a little while ago. Now it has a buncha utterly meaningless crap, followed by "loading," then "operational." A little cooler, maybe. Definitely weird.

Got some shitty news this morning. The nurse came out to see my grandmother and said that (based on her observations of my grandmother's functioning) she'd estimate she's got about 2 weeks to a month. To live. Her 84th birthday is November 20th.

i feel awful.
i updated the main Flash intro yet again. Now it features links to buy my crappy CDs. It also is cooler.

Wee-hoo!! i finally updated the main page's flash intro! Whaddya think?

23.10.01

i spiffed up the menu. Please let me know if you have any problems, i.e., busted links, et cetera. Thanks! And yeah... i know: i'm working on the "23" and "occult" stuff. Really.
Here is where i lived from about 1995 - 2000. See that main road? That's Mayport Road. Go south from the top until you see what looks like a set of ribs, on the right side. That dirt road is where i drove into the joint. i lived on the south side of that dirt road, about 4 trailers (yeah, i know) from the end. My buddy Jamal Davenport (a cool, cool dude) lived in the one at the end, on the north side (right by the dumpster, poor guy!). Of all the people who lived there, i miss Jamal. He was Good People. F'real, yo. i don't think he ever did know my name, though. He just called me "Red." i wonder how Shorty and them're doing.
This is where i live. If you look under and to the right of the up arrow, you'll see a divider in the middle of the street. That's Smith Street. Now go south to about the middle of the image. The house on the right side, directly in between the cul-de-sac on the block to the right, and the street running into the block on the left. Okay, it's one house down. The light grey roof with what looks like a white chimney or something. i grew up there! Right there! In that house! Pretty cool, huh? Hello?

i'm updating my menubar (located at the bottom of each page). It seems that i forgot to put a "/" before every single filename (e.g., /index.html), which means that if you're in /pomes/ and you want to go to /index.html, you'll get /pomes/index.html instead. It should be fixed now. i've also updated the blogger template. It should be a bit more cohesive now. Let me know if you have any problems!
This is a cool site: zero. She runs the Ring of Lost Souls. i think she's pretty cool. She's just 18, and has already figured out a lot. She seems to be in that place so many of us go through where she's got a lot of frustration/confusion/anger with The Werld, but i think she's gonna turn out okay. She's one of the Good Ones. She's One of Us, and i hope she doesn't have to go through as much shit as most of us do.
i'm just testing this. i've never used Blogger before, but i figure, if Neil Gaiman uses it, i guess it must be all right. Hopefully, i can get all my crap sorted out. It may take awhile, though ;)

i've been doing some music for my old high school's all class reunion site (which i also designed and maintain). i'm trying to "update" our alma mater and fight song. Heh. So far, what i have sounds too Trevor Rabin-y for my taste, but i'm sure the overall crowd will be suitably unoffended by it. Wait'll i get it into trance form...

Last week i got to see an old pal of mine from adolescence. His name's Bill Davenport, and he's a rockin' cat. He programs ro-bots for a living (and not no damned evil ones, neither)! We went out and had a few drinks, after which i blew my radiator (i did get home okay, though). i hope i get to hang out with Bill more often; he lives in Columbus, which is about an hour and a half from where i am. i hope i get my radiator fixed.

Heard a great show on WYSO (public radio) tonight. It was Utah Phillips. What a cool cat. Just check him out sometime. He's got his shit together.

Well, thassabout it for now. Peace, creeps.
